"Always go for a rock-steady career path where you're certain to be employed". Not one to take such sage advice, Al followed in his dad's footsteps, becoming first a musician, and later a radio personality.
He played everything from pop, and country, to heavy metal and eventually folk/roots music. In 1993, he was invited to join Tanglefoot, leading to a 17-year career of international touring and recording until 2009. Since then, Al has played in Canada, the US and UK, both as a solo artist and with his new band RPR. Both solo and group recording ensued.
Al also records commercial voice-overs for clients including Nokia, Petro-Canada, CBC, Budweiser, Extreme Reach, Nelvana, Universal Pictures, and Insano Productions.
In 2014, he went back to school in the Conestoga College Broadcast Radio Program graduating in 2016, summa cum lauda. Since graduation he has worked in Bayshore Broadcasting's award-winning news room.
Al lives in Kitchener, Ontario with his wife and two youngest children.
