Ignoring sage advice about getting a 'day job', Al followed in his dad's footsteps, first as a touring musician, then as a radio personality.
Musically, he played everything from pop and heavy metal to folk/roots music. A 1993 invitation to join Tanglefoot, led to a 17-year career touring and recording internationally, winning CFMA, Crossroads Music, and Bound for Glory awards.
Since 2009, Al has played in Canada, the U.S., and the U.K., as a solo artist and with his new bands RPR and Sister Whiskey. Both solo and group recordings have ensued.
Al also performs commercial voice-overs for clients including Nokia, Petro-Canada, CBC, Budweiser, Extreme Reach, Nelvana, Universal Pictures, and Insano Productions.
In 2014, he went back to school in the Conestoga College Broadcast Radio Program graduating in 2016, summa cum lauda. He's been a morning news anchor in Bayshore Broadcasting's award-winning news room, and for Rogers Broadcasting.
Recently, he has taken up live theatre, being offered parts in 3 plays, after 3 auditions. Al will be on stage later this year in both Rocky Horror, and The Addams Family. He will also appear in Jason Momoa's Apple TV series See 2.
Al lives in a great community in downtown Kitchener, Ontario with his wife and youngest son.
